Leadership team

Scott Simpson

Chief Executive Officer

Scott joined BlueTarp in 2012 as President and Chief Executive Officer, and has spent the majority of his twenty year career in financial services helping small businesses grow more rapidly through the effective use of credit. Prior to joining BlueTarp, Scott served as Vice President of Marketing and General Manager at Capital One Home Improvement Finance, a company focused on equipping contractors with point-of-sale financing to help them close more jobs. In addition to other leadership positions at Capital One, Scott also served as Vice President of Small Business Marketing at Vistaprint, an eCommerce leader in customized print and marketing services for small businesses.

Scott is a respected industry speaker and author, and has written articles featured in ProSales Magazine, LBM Journal, Lumber Co-Operator, Merchant Magazine and Building Products Digest.

Scott holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BA from The College of William and Mary.

Shawn Cunningham

President & Chief Operating Officer

Shawn joined BlueTarp in 2007 and serves as President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all aspects of the company's credit risk management, product development, information technology, service delivery and customer service operations. Prior to joining BlueTarp, Shawn was Vice President and General Manager of Operations at the Hartford Insurance Group, one of the leading insurance and financial services companies in the world. There Shawn had responsibility for running multi-site operations for The Hartford's agency personal lines business segment, supporting both agents/brokers and the end customer. Shawn has also held senior operational leadership positions at Capital One Financial and L.L. Bean.

Shawn holds an MBA from the University of Southern Maine and a BS in Operations Research Engineering from Cornell University.

Steve Daignault

Chief Financial Officer

With more than two decades of experience in leadership and senior management roles, Steve has focused his finance career in venture-backed, startup technology companies, driving growth from early stage to IPO or acquisition. Prior to joining BlueTarp in 2018, Steve was with Rethink Robotics, a pioneer in the development of collaborative robots designed to work alongside humans. Prior to that, he held senior finance roles at High Street Partners, envIO Networks, Ellacoya Networks and Maker Communications. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche in Boston.

Steve is a licensed certified public accountant and he graduated from Holy Cross College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Accounting.

Holly Ballweg

Manager, Human Resources

Holly joined BlueTarp in 2013, bringing nearly 20 years of diverse human resource management experience to the team. As BlueTarp's human resource leader, Holly serves as a strategic business partner to the organization - providing leadership in recruiting, employment branding, compensation, benefits, and HR information systems, as well as establishing the framework for our values and organizational culture. Under Holly's leadership, BlueTarp is proud to be recognized as a Best Place to Work in Maine for the past two years. Before joining BlueTarp, Holly served in various HR leadership roles for Maine Medical Center for over 8 years. Prior to that, she held a range of HR generalist and specialist roles at Emery Waterhouse, American Express, and MBNA.

Holly earned a BA in Mass Communications from the University of Maine.

Jon Janczuk

Vice President of Information Technology

Since joining BlueTarp as a software developer in 2000, Jon has continuously progressed to roles of increasing responsibility, including his current role as Vice President of Information Technology. In this role, Jon oversees all aspects of BlueTarp's technology, encompassing IT infrastructure as well as the development of BlueTarp's product and technology platforms for online transaction processing, payment / billing services, and web and mobile applications. During his tenure, Jon has been instrumental to the success of the company and to the evolution of its technology. He and his team play a critical role in interfacing with customers as well as sales and other business stakeholders to consistently deliver product and system enhancements.

Jon earned a BA in Art History from Tufts University.

Patrick Lenihan

Vice President of Sales

When Patrick joined BlueTarp in 2012, he brought with him a history of over two decades of exceptional results achieved through building and leading world-class sales teams. As Vice President of Sales, Patrick leads BlueTarp's team of industry-expert sales professionals who are responsible for building long-lasting customer relationships that drive substantial revenue and profitability growth for the company. Prior to joining BlueTarp, Patrick served as Vice President of Sales at Experian, one of the largest credit bureaus in the country, where he helped deliver accelerated growth and $3.9B in annual sales. He has also held sales leadership and business development roles in the home improvement and health industries at Capital One, VWR and Baxter International.

Patrick holds an MBA in Finance from Chicago's Loyola School of Business and a BA in Finance from Marquette University. Patrick lives outside of Chicago and enjoys playing golf, hockey and spending time with his family.

Kelley Marko

Vice President, Customer Engagement & Delivery

As Vice President, Customer Engagement & Delivery, Kelley brings 20 years of experience in senior marketing, product management, operations and sales roles spanning the software, telecommunications and services industries. Prior to joining BlueTarp in 2014, Kelley served as Vice President of Marketing for Arbor Networks, a leading global Internet security software provider. There she oversaw worldwide marketing, including brand management, communications, demand creation and marketing operations, and helped propel the company from $70M to nearly $200M in revenue over a three year period. Previously, she was Vice President of Marketing for Apprise Software, an ERP software and services provider serving the consumer goods industry. Earlier in her career, Kelley held leadership roles in product management, marketing, operations and sales at One Communications (now EarthLink), Global Crossing (now Level 3) and AT&T.

Kelley received her MBA from Seton Hall University and BS in Marketing from Quinnipiac University.

Tracey Richardson-Newton

Vice President of Credit Risk Management

Tracey joined BlueTarp in May 2005 as Director of Credit & Collections, and today serves as Vice President of Credit Risk Management, responsible for complete oversight of the credit risk management function as well as credit and collection operations. Prior to joining BlueTarp, she spent 15 years in leadership roles in portfolio risk management at WEX Inc. (formerly Wright Express). During her tenure with BlueTarp, Tracey has been an integral part of the design and development of the company's credit management system. Her leadership has been critical to achieving BlueTarp's excellent portfolio results. Tracey is widely recognized in the building materials and hardlines industry for her knowledge in the credit and collections field.

Tracey graduated from Trinity College of Vermont with a BA in Psychology and Business.

Sales team

Cheryl Binns

Regional Sales Manager, South

Cheryl brings 20+ years of sales experience in the building supply and financial services industries to her BlueTarp clients. Prior to joining the company, she was a Strategic Sales Team Member for Amtico International – a premium U.S. vinyl tile manufacturer, as well as a District Manager for installed sales at The Home Depot. Cheryl also spent five years with Capital One as a National Corporate Senior Sales Manager.

Known for her development of long-term client relationships and strategic expertise, she understands the needs of building material suppliers and their customers. Cheryl studied Business Administration at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.

Mike DeSimone

Regional Sales Manager, Mountain States

Mike DeSimone has over 25 years of leadership roles in business development and operations including Vice President of Business Development, Regional Sales Director, and National Director of Operations in manufacturing, distribution and building material industries. With experience in interior finish, kitchen and bath, landscaping and flooring industries, Mike has worked with C-level executives across multiple platforms and markets.  He has also held CEO/President positions in multiple manufacturing and building materials firms.

Mike brings a strong background of growth management and business development to BlueTarp and is innovative in finding solutions for businesses. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.

Keith Foxx

Regional Sales Manager, Southeast

With 30+ years of experience in the building products industry, Keith brings a wealth of knowledge to BlueTarp and his clients. Prior to joining the company, he was Vice President of Sales for LiteSteel Technologies, a structural beam manufacturer and distributor. Keith was also Director of Specialty Metals and Building Products at BlueLinx, a leading national distributor of building products.

Previous experience includes his role as General Manager of Sales and Distribution for Georgia Pacific Corporation. Keith holds an MBA from Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson School of Business and a BA from Michigan State University.

Daniel Jones

Key Accounts Manager

Daniel brings 20+ years of experience in forming strategic relationships, building teams and solving problems. His diverse background includes leadership positions in industries including construction project management technology, oil and gas, semiconductors and ergonomics. Prior to joining BlueTarp, Daniel served as President of Terradis, a company that manufactures and distributes environmental cleanup products. For 13 years, Daniel owned and operated an ergonomics business, leading the national franchise in per store sale performance. Earlier in his career, Daniel managed international projects and led a Tokyo-based marketing team for VLSI Technology, a Silicon Valley high tech company.

Daniel holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University. He lives in Denver and enjoys rugged adventures in Colorado with his family.

Logan Moon

National Sales Manager

Joining the BlueTarp sales team in 2006, Logan has extensive experience working with building supply companies to provide credit management solutions that improve cash flow, increase sales, and reduce risk. Previously, he was a Sales Representative at McClure Lumber, a company that served commercial and residential builders in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Earlier in his career, Logan was National Sales Manager for North Cray home accessories and also held broker and sales positions at Residential Mortgage Center in Charlotte. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

Sean Riley

Regional Sales Manager, Mid-Atlantic

Sean has over 25 years of sales and management experience and brings a vast knowledge across multiple disciplines within the building supply industry. Previously, he owned a millwork distribution company, and has held several leadership roles with prominent national suppliers and manufacturers including: Carolina Holdings, Wickes Lumber Company and ITW Alpine. He brings a consultative process for understanding customer needs to BlueTarp and provides solution based strategies.

Sean studied Business Management at Bucks County College. He and his family reside in Philadelphia. He's a sports enthusiast and enjoys outdoor activities which include camping, fly fishing, golf and skiing.

Careers
