You should ensure that you are familiar and comfortable with the security level of your browser and watch for security alerts affecting the software on your computer or the browser you are using. Where we have given you access credentials, such as a user name and password, for certain parts of the Site or the Software, you are responsible for keeping these credentials confidential, and we ask you not to share them with anyone. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure, and no company, including BlueTarp, can fully eliminate security risks. Although we have implemented measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to or from us, including via email, or the security of any links accessible from our Site.
What We Collect
We collect information about you in two ways: (i) directly from you when you provide it to us on the Site or using the Software, and (ii) automatically as you navigate through the Site or use the Software. More specifically, we collect the following types of information:
Customer Application Information: All of our Customers either complete or review and agree to an application or account agreement form for BlueTarp accounts. This information includes contact information (such as the business representative's name, title, business address, business phone number and fax number, and business email address); Customer information (such as the business name, principal office address, business type, number of employees, tax identification number, bank and trade references, etc.); and Customer authorized cardholder information (such as the names and credit limits, if any, of all authorized cardholders). When we receive applications or acceptance forms, we also obtain additional information to supplement the information provided (such as credit information about companies, public records, consumer reports about individuals, and information from references). We collect and retain this information and may update it from time to time.
Dealer Enrollment Information: Before a Dealer can join the BlueTarp program, a representative of the Dealer must complete an enrollment form to give us certain information, including contact information (such as the Dealer representative's name, title, business address, business phone number and fax number, and business email address) and Dealer information (such as the Dealer's name, principal office address, retail location addresses, tax identification number, and bank account information). We collect and retain this information and may update it from time to time.
Transaction Information: We collect and retain information about each transaction for each BlueTarp account, which may include a purchase identification, the identity of the authorized cardholder involved, the account number used in connection with the transaction, the name and location of the Dealer which sold the goods or services, the Dealer invoice number, the amount of the transaction, and the job identification number provided by an authorized purchaser. In some cases, we also collect detailed purchase information such as a description of the goods or services purchased, the merchandise Stock Keeping Unit (or "SKU") for each item purchased, price per unit, number of units, Dealer assigned job code, job name, job address, etc.
Profile and Survey Information: From time to time, BlueTarp Financial may request that you provide profile information such as the size of your business, type of business, building material usage, Internet preferences, etc. BlueTarp may also collect survey information from its Customers and Dealers, such as surveys about Internet use, your bookkeeping practices and software, and your views about BlueTarp.
Supplemental Information: BlueTarp may supplement the information that you provide with additional information we receive from third parties, including service providers, credit bureaus and industry trade groups. We treat any supplemental information we receive from third parties as carefully as the information that you provide to us directly.
Navigation Information and "Cookies": We use website usage metrics (including visits to our Site, the pages visited on our Site, the pathways used, and identity of sites from which users come to the Site) and Internet address information to help diagnose problems with our server, to track user traffic patterns, and to administer the Site. We may make use of a standard feature of browser software called a "cookie" to assign each visitor a unique, random number. A cookie is a file that identifies a computer as a unique user. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You may be able to reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If cookies are disabled, however, the Site (and many other websites) may be harder to use. A cookie cannot read data off the hard drive of a computer.
Communication Information: We may retain copies for our records of any communications we send to or receive from you via email, the Site, or the Software. We are not responsible for archiving and/or maintaining communication information. We encourage you to maintain your own records of communication with us.
How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the various types of information we collect about you in the following ways:
Customer Application Information: We use Customer application information to underwrite applications, to review the status of BlueTarp accounts from time-to-time, and to collect payments due BlueTarp or others on whose behalf we collect payments. We also use application information to verify your identity when you access our Site. We may also use aggregated application information for analysis purposes. For example, we may use aggregated application information to analyze the effectiveness of marketing solicitations. Aggregated application information will not be identified with any particular Customer or individual account holder.
Dealer Enrollment Information: We use Dealer enrollment information to process BlueTarp transactions, to verify the identity of a Dealer and its representatives when they access the Site, to provide remittance to Dealers for BlueTarp transactions and to obtain payment from Dealers for the services they obtain from BlueTarp. Dealer enrollment information may be used, with the Dealer's permission, to promote the Dealer as accepting BlueTarp. We may also use aggregate enrollment information for analysis purposes. For example, we may use aggregated enrollment information to analyze the effectiveness of sales and advertising efforts. Aggregated enrollment information will not be identified with any particular Dealer.
Transaction Information: BlueTarp uses transaction information to ensure proper Customer billing and Dealer reimbursement processing. BlueTarp uses survey information to evaluate the performance of our services and to anticipate future customer services.
Navigation Information: Our Site uses navigation information to recognize each visitor to the Site as a user of the Site, to direct you to your personal account "home page" and to help keep track of usage patterns on the Site for future enhancements.
Other Uses: In addition to the foregoing, we may use the information we collect about you or that you provide to us as needed for lawful business purposes, including but not limited to any other purpose for which you provide it or to which you consent, as well as to comply with any court order, law or legal process, or in connection with a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of BlueTarp's assets.
